- CRUST INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- FILLING INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups pecans, halved
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
How To Make caramel pecan bars

Step 1CRUST: Combine all ingredients in food processor or with electric mixer until blended.

Step 2Press evenly in 15X10X3/4 jelly roll pan.

Step 3Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

Step 4FILLING: Spread pecans evenly over crust.

Step 5In large, heavy saucepan, melt butter and honey. Add brown sugar.

Step 6Boil 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly, until a rich brown caramel color.

Step 7Remove from heat.

Step 8Stir in cream.

Step 9Mix well and pour over pecans.

Step 10Bake 15 minutes longer.

Step 11Cool, then cut into bars.

Step 12HELPFUL HINT: Take time to place pecan right side up.

Step 13Freezes well. MAKES: about 50 BARS
