I feel that some of the best recipes happen when your hungry . A well stocked kitchen is a great place to play on a cool fall day ..

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    chipped apples ( i used honeycrisp)
  • 1 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1
    bag of kraft caramel bits
  • 3/4 c
    walnuts

How to Make Caramel Apple Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream together the shortening sugars and eggs
  2. add buttermilk and apples stir well
  3. add flour and spices
  4. stir in caramel bits and walnuts
  5. place by teaspoon drops on well greased baking pan
  6. bake at 350* for about 10 mins
