Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 1/3 cups brown sugar
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1/4 cups chopped cranberries
- ORANGE GLAZE(OPTIONAL):
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated orange rind

Step 1Beat butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Add sour cream.

Step 2Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and nutmeg in a separate bowl. Stir into the wet mixture until well blended. Add the pecans and cranberries.

Step 3Drop tablespoon-sized mounds on a greased cookie sheet. Make sure they are spaced 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool for a few minutes on baking sheet.

Step 4Remove cookies and transfer to a rack to completely cool. Ice cookies with the orange glaze if you wish. Store in a tin.
