candy orange slice cookies
Another one of my treasured recipes from my Mother. She loved making these cookies to give away at Christmas and some people (including me!) came back for more!

Makes about 5 dozen
Ingredients
- 2 cups vegetable shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 3 - eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 can coconut
- 3 cups oatmeal, uncooked
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, in pieces
- 25 - orange slice candy, chopped
How To Make candy orange slice cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream shortening and sugars together and add flour and baking powder. Dissolve the baking soda in the water and add to mixture.

Step 2Fold in coconut, oatmeal, pecans and orange slice candies.

Step 3Spoon out onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
