I love any cookie with butterscotch chips! The macadamia nuts and coconut don't hurt either. :)

  • 2 1/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp
  • 2
  • 12 oz
    pkg. butterscotch chips
  • 1 c
    macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 c
    flaked coconut

How to Make California Chews


  1. Sift together all dry ingredients. Set aside. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs to butter mixture. Mix well. Stir in the dry ingredients until well blended.
  2. Mix in butterscotch chips, nuts, and coconut. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned at 375 degrees.
  3. Remove cookies from baking sheet and cool on rack.
