I have made these cookies for 40 years....Use to roll out and cut out for Christmas decorations when the kids were little, now just roll into a log and cut and put on cookie sheet, Now, I have to prepare every Christmas and Thanksgiving....but have learnt a lot of tricks...to save time...

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup crisco
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 2 - egg yolks
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- STEP SAVER::: USE VANILLA CAKE ICING ADD A FEW DROPS OF FOOD COLORING AND MIX AND SPREAD ON COOLED COOKIE AND DECORATE

Step 1Mix all ingredients together and roll into a log. and slice and put on cookie sheet and put in oven about 325 degrees and just let the bottoms get light brown and take out and cool on sheet before you take them off sheet

Step 2I put on foil, until all have been cooked, then ice the cookie and let stand before putting in box or on platter...I make up a couple of weeks before Christmas and put in sealed plastic container till day of dinner to put out...or they will be eaten immediately.....
