These cookies are very delicious. It has all my favorite flavors, butterscotch and walnuts, along with just a small bit of vanilla extract...LOVE 'EM.

1 2/3 c
all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp
cream of tartar
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 c
butter, softened
1 c
packed brown sugar
1 large
egg
1 tsp
milk or water
1/2 tsp
vanilla
1/2 c
finely chopped walnuts
1 c
butterscotch morsels

How to Make Butterscotch-Walnut Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Sift dry ingredients together and set aside.
  • 2Beat butter in a mixer bowl with electric mixer until softened. Add brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk or water and vanilla; beat well. Add the flour mixture; beat until well combined. Stir in nuts and butterscotch morsels.
  • 3Shape into 2 (8 inch) logs. Wrap and chill for several hours or freeze for 1 hour. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
