butterscotch shortbread

I got this recipe from a dear friend named Carol. These are GREAT...... I don't like to make these unless the Grandkids will be here. Because I will eat them all. They are that good. And so easy to make.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter ( softened)
- 1/2 cup powered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butterscothch chips
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
How To Make butterscotch shortbread

Step 1Cream butter and powered sugar untill light and fluffy.

Step 2Add vanilla.

Step 3Mix flour,cornstarch,and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well.

Step 4Fold in chips and toffee. Put on a piece of plastic wrap, shape into a log shape. wrap the plastic wrap around the log. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Step 5Unwrap the dough, place on cutting board. Cut in to slices about 3/8 ths of an inch thick. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 6Bake @ 350 for 10 to 12 min. Or untill lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Makes aprox. 4 dozen.
