Makes 7 - 8 dozen
Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup shortening or lard ( i use butter flavor crisco)
- 4 cups flour, unbleached
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
How To Make butterscotch cookies

Step 1Mix all ingredients except for the nuts thoroughly by mixer. Stir in the nuts by hand

Step 2Roll the dough into ropes about 2 inches thick Cut in thin slices. Cross press with a fork to make a design if desired.

Step 3Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes
