Ingredients

2 c
brown sugar
3 large
eggs
1 c
shortening or lard ( i use butter flavor crisco)
4 c
flour, unbleached
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
cream of tarter
1 c
walnuts, chopped

How to Make Butterscotch Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix all ingredients except for the nuts thoroughly by mixer.
    Stir in the nuts by hand
  • 2Roll the dough into ropes about 2 inches thick
    Cut in thin slices.
    Cross press with a fork to make a design if desired.
  • 3Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes
