These are the go to cookies my mom would make when we came home from school and said we needed cookies for in the morning. Love them....

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
1 cup crisco shortning
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 - eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder

How To Make buttermilk cookies

Step 1

Mix all ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 min. Frost if desired. Makes approximately 5 dozens.
