This was a cookie that we made every Christmas. You could always tell when someone ate one because they'd have powdered sugar all down the front of their clothes...

Makes about 70 Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make butterball cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and flour and salt. Mix together and add nuts last.

Step 2Form into balls the size of walnuts and place on cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Cookies do not spread.

Step 3Bake 20 minutes at 325 degrees. While still warm roll in powdered sugar and let cool. Before serving roll in powdered sugar again. Makes about 70 cookies.
