My Grandma always made BUTTER TARTS, from a canadian recipe from her home Country of Canada. Since then I found this recipe Don't remember where, and its also very good. I have also added a "lemon Tart Squares" that you can make with this Same recipe.

Ingredients
- BOTTOM CRUST BASE:
- 1 C - flour
- 1/4 C - sugar
- 1/2 C - butter (do not use margarine)
- FILLING/TOPPING
- 2 Tbs - butter melted (not margarine)
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 1 C - brown sugar
- 2 Tbs - flour
- 1/2 tsp - baking pdr
- 1 tsp - vanilla
- - pinch/dash of salt
- 1 C - raisins
- 1/2 C - chopped pecans ( optional)
How To Make butter tart squares by freda

Step 1BASE: PREHEAT OVEN @ 350 in a bowl mix flour, sugar, then Cut in the butter until Crumbly Press into a 9" square pan. Bake @ 350 for 15 min.

Step 2Topping: In Bowl Mix together, Butter and eggs; Blend in the Sugar, flour, Baking Pdr, Vanilla, & Salt. Stir in raisins, & (optional Nuts) if You dessire. Pour this over the Base.

Step 3Bake: @ 350 for 20-25 min, or until top springs back when touched lightly. Cool completely before Cutting into Squares.

Step 4TIP: LEMOM SQUARES: Substitute White granulated Sugar for Brn Sugar, and add 1 tsp grated Lemon rind and 3 TBS lemon Juice. Follow baking directions above. (OMIT RAISINS & NUTS)
