This recipe comes from a friend that I worked with at Monroe Surgical Hospital. They are delicious, but I always laugh when I remember the story Bev told after over hearing her grandkids talk about them. "Mimi makes good brownies, but I don't know why she puts rocks (pecans) in them."

  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 2 stick
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4
  • 4 Tbsp
    hershey's cocoa powder
  • 1 c
    self rising flour

How to Make Brownies


  1. Melt the margarine with the cocoa in a saucepan.
  2. Add the sugar, flour, vanilla, and pecans.
  3. Briskly stir in the eggs.
  4. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
