This recipe comes from a friend that I worked with at Monroe Surgical Hospital. They are delicious, but I always laugh when I remember the story Bev told after over hearing her grandkids talk about them. "Mimi makes good brownies, but I don't know why she puts rocks (pecans) in them."

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 - eggs
  • 4 tablespoons hershey's cocoa powder
  • 1 cup self rising flour

How To Make brownies

  • Step 1
    Melt the margarine with the cocoa in a saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Add the sugar, flour, vanilla, and pecans.
  • Step 3
    Briskly stir in the eggs.
  • Step 4
    Pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
