Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • - granulated sugar (for flattening)

How To Make brown sugar shortbread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350*F. Line cookie sheet with Parchment paper & set aside. In large mixing bowl beat butter for 30 seconds until fluffy. Add Brown sugar, spice, & salt. Beat til combined, scraping sides when necessary. Using a wooden spoon, mix in flour. (I ended up using hands to mix in last of flour..trying not handle to much)
  • Step 2
    Shape into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Dip bottom of glass or cookie stamp into granulated sugar (I mixed 1 tsp of spice with 1/4 cup of sugar for this part.) And Flatten Cookie.
  • Step 3
    Bake 10 minutes just until set. Transfer to wire rack to cool.
