Who can believe just 3 ingredients? Wonderful taste. Can also be made with light brown sugar, but it will have less caramel taste.

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 1/4 cups flour
How To Make brown sugar shortbread

Step 1Preheat oven to 300 degrees

Step 2Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Gradually add in flour and mix well.

Step 3Turn out on a lightly-floured surface and knead until smooth.

Step 4Place dough on ungreased cookie sheet and pat into a rectangle about 11 x 8 and 1/3-inch thick. Cut into 2-inch by 1-inch pieces. Prick each piece with a fork.

Step 5Bake for 25 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly brown. Cool on sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool.
