my friend gave me this recipe for this cookie to smell them cooking is like um i got to have one right this minute.

  • 1 1/2 stick
    butter, unsalted at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 large
    egg, room temperature
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon

How to Make Brown Sugar Cookies With Ginger


  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Line 2 baking sheets with silicon pads or parchment paper. Set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer with paddle attachment mix together butter and brown sugar, about 6 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and mix well.
  5. In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon.
  6. Slowly add flour mixture to the butter mixture until just combined.
  7. Distribute tablespoon sized dough drops onto the baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8-12 minutes.
  9. Let cool on wire rack for a chewier cookie cookie or on the baking sheet for a crunchier version.
