Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks butter, unsalted at room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
How To Make brown sugar cookies with ginger

Step 1Preheat oven to 375.

Step 2Line 2 baking sheets with silicon pads or parchment paper. Set aside.

Step 3In a stand mixer with paddle attachment mix together butter and brown sugar, about 6 minutes.

Step 4Add the egg and mix well.

Step 5In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon.

Step 6Slowly add flour mixture to the butter mixture until just combined.

Step 7Distribute tablespoon sized dough drops onto the baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.

Step 8Bake for 8-12 minutes.

Step 9Let cool on wire rack for a chewier cookie cookie or on the baking sheet for a crunchier version.
