Ingredients
- CREAM
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter/margarine
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- ADD
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- MIX
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ADD FLOUR MIXTURE TO ABOVE, THEN ADD
- 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
How To Make brown sugar cookies

Step 1Chill for 20 minutes.

Step 2Form balls size of quarters. Roll balls in sugar.

Step 3Press flat on ungreased baking sheet.

Step 4Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees

Step 5I dip fork in cold water to flatten the cookies and that makes them real pretty.

Step 6Optional Icing: If you are going to frost, do not roll balls in sugar. Boil: 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup cream or canned milk for 4 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add 1 cup powdered sugar and spread on cookies.
