2 c
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
2/3 c
unsalted butter
2 c
packed dark brown sugar
2 tsp
1 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c
toasted pecans
for a more cake like brownie, add 1 tsp. baking powder
**you can use light brown sugar. although dark brown sugar adds a delightful tenderness to these brownies.

How to Make Blonde Brownies


  • 1Sift together flour, soda, and salt.
  • 2In a sauce pan, melt butter. Cool slightly and add brown sugar, slightly beaten eggs and vanilla.
  • 3Add flour mixture a small amount at a time, until combined. Add nuts.
  • 4Spread mixture into a 13 x 9 inch pan, prepared with Pam. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
  • 5Bake @ 350 for 20-25 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE.
