My husband loves these.I got the recipe out of a old cookbook.

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup light brown sugar
1 - egg
3/4 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts (opt.)

How To Make blonde brownies

Step 1

Melt butter;remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Cool.Beat in egg.

Step 2

Sift dry ingredients;stir into brown sugar mixture.Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well.
Step 3

Spread in well greased 8x8x2-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes .
