Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3-4 mashed ripe bananas
  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

How To Make black bottom banana bars

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in the bananas. Combine the dry ingredients; add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  • Step 2
    Divide the batter in half. Add cocoa to half; spread into a greased 9 X 13 inch baking pan. Spoon remaining batter on top and swirl with a knife to marble.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool.
