Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    oil
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 medium
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    molasses
  • 1 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    granulated sugar

How to Make Bettys Gingersnaps

Step-by-Step

  1. preheat oven to 375.
  2. in mixing bowl, beat oil with sugar. beat in egg and molasses. the dough can be quite sticky.
  3. using 1 teaspoon per cookie shape dough into ball. place on lightly oiled baking pan sheet and flatten with the palm of your hand.
  4. bake for 12-15 minutes. let cool on cookie sheets or racks.
