When I lived in the DC area, there were recipes from Presidential recipes posted in the paper, on places like the quaker oats container... I found this one cleaning out my recipe box, and had to post! Not only because it is good, but so I don't loose it!

1/2 cflour

1/4 tsppowder

1/2 csugar

1/2 cquaker oats, quick cooking

2 Tbspwhipping cream

1/3 cmelted butter

1 Tbspvanilla

2 Tbspwhite karo corn syrup
How To Make barbara bush's oatmeal lace cookies

1Oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour, powder and sugar into mixing bowl. Add remaining, mix until well blended.

2Drop slightly heaped 1/4 teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets (I line with parchment paper), leaving 4" between cookies.

3Bake for 6 min, but check after 4, until lightly browned. Let sit a few seconds before removing from the pan.
