- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 1/2 cups dark karo syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 - egg
- 3 - beaten eggs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar

How To Make aunt thelma's pecan pie bars

Step 1Reserve 2/3 cup cake mix for later. Mix remaining mix, 1 egg, and butter. Press into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Step 2In the meantime, mix the 2/3 cup cake mix with eggs, syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla. Pour into crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
