This is my mom's famous recipe. Soft and chewy. definitely a favorite.

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
4 - eggs
2 cups applesauce
5 cups floour
2 round teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon each of: salt, cinnamon,cloves, nutmeg
3 cups oatmeal, uncooked
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips or raisens

How To Make applesauce oatmeal cookies

Step 1

Mix together the sugar and shortening. Add eggs.

Step 2

Blend in the applesauce. Combine the baking powder, baking soda, spices and vanilla. Mix well.
Step 3

Add the flour and the oatmeal. mix in the chocolate chips or raisin's.
Step 4

Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
