Makes 3 Dozen Cookies
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter flavor shortening
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 or 5 bags instant apple cinnamon instant oatmeal
- 2-3 cups quick oats
- 1 gala apple
- 3/4 cup raisins
How To Make apple oatmeal cookies

Step 1Preheat Oven to 375 degrees

Step 2Combine; shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla. Beat with mixer at medium speed until well blended.

Step 3Combine in another bowl flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda and nutmeg. Mix thoroughly. Mix into creamed mixture with electric mixer at low speed just until blended

Step 4In another bowl open pouches of apple flavor instant oatmeal. Add enough Quick oats to equal 3 cups total. Stir Into Cookie Mixture.

Step 5Peel and finely chop apple. I mince mine with a little electric chopper. Fold into cookie Mixture

Step 6Fold in Raisins.

Step 7Using tablespoon scoops. Place on parchment paper lined cookie sheets 2 inches apart.

Step 8Bake 14-15 minutes. Cookies will be soft. Let stand on cookie sheet a full 2 minutes to set. Move to cooking racks.

Step 9Adjust cooking times if needed. Depending on how soft or hard you like your cookies.
