This is my Grandpa's recipe. These are more like biscotti and are great for dunking in your tea or coffee. You can also dip the ends into melted chocolate and nuts if you like.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 5 teaspoons anise extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
How To Make anise cookies

Step 1Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, anise, flour and baking powder.

Step 2Form dough into 2 strips about 4" wide.

Step 3Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Step 4Pull out of the oven when done and while the loafs are still warm, cut into 1" slices. Put them back into the pan with the cut side down and toast until light brown.
