Yummy cookies. Originated in Louisiana and spread from there. The pecans in these are fabulous. Cook time is per cookie sheet.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 medium egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels or chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- additional sugar for rolling
How To Make angel chocolate chip cookies

Step 1Cream the butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add the sugars, beating well at the medium speed of an electric mixer.

Step 2Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract; beat well.

Step 3Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

Step 4Add to the creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in the chocolate morsels and pecans.

Step 5Shape the dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.

Step 6Bake at 350 degrees F for 14 to 15 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.
