amy's peanut oatmeal bars

This is a recipe I made when I was in high school Home Ec, and it's still one of my favorites. The icing tastes like peanut butter fudge...which is never bad, in my book.

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 6 tablespoons shortening
- 2 - eggs beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
How To Make amy's peanut oatmeal bars

Step 1Stir together flour, sugar, soda and 1/4 tsp salt. Cut in peanut butter and shortening until mixture resembles course crumbles.

Step 2Mix eggs, milk and vanilla. Add to flour mixture with oats and mix well. Spread into lightly greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 375 for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool and spread with frosting.

Step 3For frosting - mix ingredients below until smooth and spreading consistency. 1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar 2 tbsp salted butter 2 tbsp peanut butter 2 -3 tsp milk
