This delicious cookie recipe came from my Grandmother's recipe box. I entered these cookies into the first annual cookie swap contest with my friends in 2004. Everyone still remembers these cookies as one of their favorites. So GOOD!

Ingredients

3/4 c
butter
1 c
sugar
1
egg, beaten
1/4 c
molasses
1 1/2 c
flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
salt
1 tsp
ginger
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 c
quick oats
2/3 c
raisins

How to Make Alzena’s Oatmeal Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1CREAM TOGETHER
    3/4 c butter
    1 c sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c molasses
  • 2SIFT TOGETHER
    1 1/2 c flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp ginger
    1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3COMBINE THE WET AND DRY MIXTURES TOGETHER THEN ADD:
    1 c quick oats
    2/3 c raisins
  • 4Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with a wet fork.
  • 5Bake at 325 for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm. Let cool for 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
