This delicious cookie recipe came from my Grandmother's recipe box. I entered these cookies into the first annual cookie swap contest with my friends in 2004. Everyone still remembers these cookies as one of their favorites. So GOOD!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 2/3 cup raisins

How To Make alzena’s oatmeal cookies

  • Step 1
    CREAM TOGETHER 3/4 c butter 1 c sugar 1 egg, beaten 1/4 c molasses
  • Step 2
    SIFT TOGETHER 1 1/2 c flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp ginger 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Step 3
    COMBINE THE WET AND DRY MIXTURES TOGETHER THEN ADD: 1 c quick oats 2/3 c raisins
  • Step 4
    Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with a wet fork.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 325 for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm. Let cool for 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
