I love love love candy-cookie BARS of any kind.
Here is recipe #1 (recipe #2 coming next).

I have no idea where I got the recipe, have had it for years.

Ingredients

  • 1 box
    devil's food cake mix
  • 1 stick
    butter (softened)
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet morsels (use a good brand)
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans (or walnuts if you prefer)
  • 1 c
    sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 can(s)
    sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

How to Make ALMOST CANDY BARS...#1 (Cin)

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
    Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with foil and spraying foil with a non-stick spray (pam or bakers joy).
  2. Combine butter with the dry cake mix.
    Press into your prepared baking sheet.
  3. Sprinkle on the rest of the ingredients and finish with the milk, (drizzle milk back an forth, up an down until all is used).
  4. Bake at 350° for 20-to-22 min's, until browned, but milk slightly wet. It will set up when cooled.
