Ingredients
- 1 cup butter flavor shortening
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1.66 cups all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup slivered almonds, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- - confectioners' sugar
How To Make almond tea cookies

Step 1Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Cream butter flavored shortening, milk and almond extract in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.

Step 3Beat in granulated sugar.

Step 4Combine flour, almonds and salt and mix into creamed mixture.

Step 5Shape dough into balls using one level measuring tablespoon for each.

Step 6Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

Step 7Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes. (Cookies will not brown. DO NOT overbake.)

Step 8Remove to cooling rack.

Step 9Roll slightly warm cookies in confectioners sugar and then roll in confectioners sugar again when cookies are completely cool. (Makes 3 dozen cookies.)
