Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg, separated
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
How To Make almond shortbread bars

Step 1In large mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, egg yolk and almond extract. Beat at low speed until particles are fine, 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 2Press on bottom of greased 10 X 15 inch jelly roll pan. In small bowl, beat egg white and water until frothy; brush on dough. Sprinkle nuts over top.

Step 3Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, or until very lightly browned. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
