Grandma W changed her recipes often, so you will find 3 of these in JAP. The one I loved was the original recipe that she made just for me! Note: this recipe was edited in September of 99, and I have to admit I prefer the original recipe. This is much greasier. See recipe for Biscotti for a better dough.

- 1 can almond filling (not paste)
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar, minus 2 tablespoons
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons vanilla (yes, tablespoon, not a misprint)
- - milk
How To Make almond rolls, 2 (grandma w's)

Step 1Mix flour, sugar and powder. Work in shortening. Make a well and add eggs and vanilla. Knead well, adding milk if needed. 375 degree oven middle rack, 18 min.
