almond macaroon's - connie style
I orginally saw this recipe in a local newspaper. I've tweeked it to meet my taste bud needs. The cookies are so good. They disappear within minutes. My neighbors and friends love it when they smell these baking:)

Ingredients
- 1 pound sliced almonds
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 - egg whites
How To Make almond macaroon's - connie style

Step 1Heat the oven to 300 degrees.

Step 2Finely grind almonds, sugar and salt in a food processor.

Step 3Add the vanilla; pulse to mix.

Step 4In another bowl, beat egg whites to soft peaks.

Step 5Add beaten egg whites to food processor; pulse 4-5 times. The mixture should form a grainy batter.

Step 6Wet your hands(this keeps the dought from sticking).

Step 7Roll teaspoon of dough between your palms to make into a ball.

Step 8Place on greased baking sheets 2-3 inches apart. Bake twenty-five minutes until golden brown. I rotate the sheets half-way through.

Step 9Cool on wire racks
