I love making these delicious brownies. I make them not only for my family, but for afterwards at Church. They are gobbled up immediately and I get so many compliments. And come on....who doesn't like chocolate?
1Combine 2 cups sugar, 1-1/2 cups flour, cocoa, and salt; add oil, eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 3 minutes. Then, pour into a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
2Beat butter, brown sugar and remaining sugar; add milk and remaining vanilla. Blend in remaining flour until smooth and creamy. Then, fold in 1 cup chocolate chips. Spread mixture over brownies and refrigerate until firm and then cut into squares.
3Melt remaining chocolate chips and shortening in a double boiler; stir until smooth. Then, drizzle over brownies.
