How to Make Soft Chocolate Frosting for Black Magic Cake
- Melt chocolate in saucepan over hot water. Beat egg yolks in heavy saucepan until very thick. Add Sugar and beat smoothly together.
- Add milk, instant coffee and butter, stirring well. cook over very low to med.low heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Cook for 1 minute only after it reaches the boiling point.
- Remove from heat, stir in chocolate, add salt and vanilla. Beat until it reaches a good spreading concistency. It will spread nicely.
- Makes enough to use between two layers and to frost the top and sides of cake. Note: this frosting has glossy appearance and stays soft.
