  • 1 stick
    butter (8 tblspns)
  • 4 oz
    un-sweet chocolate squares
  • 1-3/4 c
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 large
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans (or walnuts)

How to Make Saucepan Brownies


  1. Oven 350*, rack centered
  2. Melt butter over low heat.
  3. Turn off heat, add chocolate and stir occasionally until melted and combined. Set aside to cool slightly.
  4. Stir in sugar and salt.
  5. Add vanilla and eggs, one at time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the flour until just incorporated.
  7. Fold in nuts.
  8. Pour into 8 x 8 lightly greased, non-stick pan (or foil lined.) Bake 30-35 minutes.
