The one "candy bar" that I have trouble saying "no" to is the peppermint patty. When I saw this recipe, I knew it was meant to be. I like the peppermint's coolness all wrapped inside the chocolate of the brownie. These brownies may require just a little more time than regular brownies, but they are worth it. I also like them without the glaze. Too good for words!! I believe that this was a Land O Lakes recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 (1oz) - squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon real vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 10 - bite size peppermint patties, quartered
  • - ------the glaze----
  • 3/4 cup real milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup, light

How To Make pepperment patty brownines

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Grease 8" pan; set aside.
  • Step 2
    Melt 1/2 cup butter and baking chocolate over medium heat-stirring constantly for 4 to 6 minutes until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Mix in sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda--mix well.
  • Step 4
    Cover bottom of prepared pan with 1 cup of batter. Place quartered patties on top. Carefully spread remaining batter over patties--cover completely.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely.
  • Step 6
    Melt chocolate chips and 2 T butter over low heat-stir constantly until smooth. Stir in corn syrup and let rest until glaze thickens-about 10 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Top cooled brownies with glaze. Cover and refrigerate until glaze is set-about 10 minutes.
