My mother used regular Crisco for this recipe but I use the Butter Flavor. My family loves these cookies and I usually have to make several batches because they're snapped up fast.

1 cup shortening (i use butter flavor crisco)
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 - eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips (i use milk chocolate or crushed up andes candies)

How To Make nana christian's chocolate chip cookies

Step 1

Mix by hand all ingredients.

Step 2

Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. (I use parchment paper)
Step 3

Bake for 10 minutes in 350 degree oven. Remove to rack to cool.
