My mother used regular Crisco for this recipe but I use the Butter Flavor. My family loves these cookies and I usually have to make several batches because they're snapped up fast.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    shortening (i use butter flavor crisco)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 pkg
    semi-sweet chocolate chips (i use milk chocolate or crushed up andes candies)

How to Make Nana Christian's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix by hand all ingredients.
  2. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. (I use parchment paper)
  3. Bake for 10 minutes in 350 degree oven. Remove to rack to cool.
