Good homemade frostings can be very hard to find, many are too sweet, too rich, or complicated to put together. I enjoy the flavors in this fabulous chocolate frosting, another essential recipe at my house.

Ingredients
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 3/4 cup milk, whole
- 1/2 cup butter, unsalted
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How To Make homemade chocolate frosting

Step 1In a double boiler add chocolate chips, milk, and butter.

Step 2Stir over medium heat until smooth. Add to mixer and beat in the powdered sugar, and vanilla.

Step 3Blend until smooth, if very lumpy run it through a strainer. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, and then beat for another 1-2 minutes before using.
