What could be better than an eclair-like crust, rich, creamy vanilla pudding, whipped topping, and chocolate fudge? Everyone loves this yummy dessert! I found this in my husband's family cookbook and it's definitely a keeper! Love it!

all purpose flour
2 (3.4 oz) pkg
instant vanilla pudding
3 1/2 c
1 tsp
vanilla extract
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
8 oz
whipped topping, thawed
12 oz
chocolate fudge topping

How to Make French Pastry Cake


  • 1Bring water and butter to a boil. Add flour, mix well, and cool slightly.
  • 2Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.
  • 3Press into greased 10 x 14 pan and bake at 450 for 15-20 minutes, until crust is golden with a crater-like surface. Remove from oven and cool.
  • 4To make filling, mix the pudding, milk, vanilla, and cream cheese in blender. Pour into cooled crust and chill.
  • 5Before serving, spread with whipped topping and drizzle with chocolate fudge topping.
