What could be better than an eclair-like crust, rich, creamy vanilla pudding, whipped topping, and chocolate fudge? Everyone loves this yummy dessert! I found this in my husband's family cookbook and it's definitely a keeper! Love it!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 - eggs
  • 2 (3.4 oz) packages instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed
  • 12 ounces chocolate fudge topping

How To Make french pastry cake

  • Step 1
    Bring water and butter to a boil. Add flour, mix well, and cool slightly.
  • Step 2
    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.
  • Step 3
    Press into greased 10 x 14 pan and bake at 450 for 15-20 minutes, until crust is golden with a crater-like surface. Remove from oven and cool.
  • Step 4
    To make filling, mix the pudding, milk, vanilla, and cream cheese in blender. Pour into cooled crust and chill.
  • Step 5
    Before serving, spread with whipped topping and drizzle with chocolate fudge topping.
