Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon gelatin, unflavored
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipping cream, cold
- - sweetened whipped cream, if desired
- - chocolate shavings, if desired
How To Make dark chocolate mousse

Step 1Stir together sugar & gelatin in small saucepan; stir in milk. Let stand 2 minutes to soften gelatin. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture just begins to boil.

Step 2Remove from heat. Immediately add chocolate chips; stir until melted. Stir in vanilla; cool to room temperature.

Step 3Beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high speed in large bowl until stiff peaks form.

Step 4Add 1/2 of chocolate mixture & gently fold until nearly combined; add remaining chocolate mixture & fold just until blended. Spoon into serving dish or individual dishes. Refrigerate. Garnish with sweetened whipped cream & chocolate shavings, if desired, just before serving.
