Our family makes this every year for the holiday can eat anytime and can sprinkle with coconut.

Ingredients

  • 1 - sleeve saltine crackers(about 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces bag of chocolate chips
  • - nuts or sprinkles for topping

How To Make christmas cracker toffee

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.line cookie sheet with foil and sray with oil.
  • Step 2
    Cover cookie sheet with one layer of saltines. In saucepan over medium heat bring butter and brown sugar to a boil. Stirring continuously for about 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Pour over crackers evenly and bake for 6 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Remove from oven sprinkle warm crackers with chocolate chips.
  • Step 5
    Allow chocolate to soften then spread chocolate evenly on top of crackers. Sprinkle with nuts or holiday sprinkles. Cool. Break apart.
