I have 2 heavy duty chocolate milk drnkers in my house. I was going thru the store bought stuff like crazy. So after some research and tweaking of my own this is my final product! I hope you enjoy!

How to Make Chocolate Syrup

Step-by-Step

  1. In a medium tall sided sauce pan place water and cocoa powder over med heat and stir to fully incorporate the coca powder into the water.
  2. Once water and coca are mixed add in sugar and stir until sugar has dissolved.
  3. WATCHING VERY VERY CLOSELY let mixture come to a boil and then turn heat down to maintain a rapid simmer. WATCH OUT FOR BOIL OVER. Let cook for 10 mins stirring often.
  4. After 10 mins remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt. Now for the really hard part. Let cool to room temp and then place in a bottle (I use an old chocolate syrup bottle)and store in fridge.
