I use Jacquin's Glaciale CREME DE
MENTHE. You can us mint oil if you prefer. These are always a big hit. This is a recipe I have made for years. It was given to me by a friend.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 4
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 6 oz.
    can chocolate syrup
  • MINT LAYER:

  • 2 c
    10x sugar (powdered sugar)
  • 2 - 4 Tbsp
    creme de menthe or mint oil
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • GLAZE:

  • 6 oz.
    package chocolate chips
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter

How to Make Chocolate Mint Squares

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix first 7 ingredients and pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan
  2. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
  3. Mix mint layer and pour over cooled cake
  4. Melt glaze ingredients together in a sauce pan until smooth and spread over mint layer and let cool
  5. Chill in refrigerator until set.
  6. Remove from refrigerator and cut into disired squares.
