chocolate marshmallow cookies - my grandmas

I have never seen these anywhere other then out of my family's kitchens. My Grandma, Grace Dukart, used to make them. They are awesome!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tablespoon baking sod
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 can chopped pecans
- 30 - large marshmallows cut in half

Step 1Cream shortening well, add sugar, egg and beat well. Add flour, cocoa, soda, salt, vanilla and milk, mix until smooth. Then add nuts. Drop onto pan, bake 6-7 min at 350, remove place ½ marshmallow, on each cookie. Return to oven for 3 min. Cool and ice with powdered sugar icing. (we make icing red and green)
