Growing up as a child, this was what I made when we were having a big breakfast (morning or for supper-my favorite). This is soo yummy over biscuits with a little butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa, unsweetened
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

How To Make chocolate gravy

  • Step 1
    In medium size saucepan, mix dry ingredients to break up flor and cocoa lumps.
  • Step 2
    Add milk and cook on medium/high heat until mixture becomes thick and bubbly.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
  • Step 4
    Serve over scratch buttermilk biscuits (no canned or frozen biscuits please- that would be a southern sin haha!)
