chocolate cobbler
(1 RATING)
I received this recipe from a friend, so I can't take credit for 'inventing' it. What I can do is tell you how delicious and easy it is to make. And the fact that it is warm and chocolaty makes it even better.

Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, cold
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups self rising flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- FOR THE CHOCOLATE LAYER
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 cups boiling water
How To Make chocolate cobbler
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350°. Place both sticks of cut up butter in a 9 x 13 pan (I use glass)and put in oven while preheating to melt butter. Meanwhile, put the 2 cups of water in a pot and bring to a boil.
-
Step 2While waiting on water to boil and butter to melt, mix together 1 ¼ cups sugar, flour, vanilla, and milk. In a separate bowl for the chocolate layer, mix 1 cup sugar and cocoa.
-
Step 3Once the butter is melted, drop by spoonfuls(DO NOT STIR)the flour mixture into the butter. Sprinkle cocoa mixture evenly over flour/butter mixture. Pour the 2 cups of boiling water over evenly (DO NOT STIR OR MIX).
-
Step 4Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. It's great served with ice cream.
