Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 cups self rising flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 3/4 cup milk
- CHOCOLATE LAYER:
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 cups boiling water
How To Make jan's easy chocolate cobbler

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the stick of butter in a 13 X 9-inch glass baking dish.

Step 2In a bowl, mix the 1 c. plus 2 T. sugar, flour, vanilla, and milk. Pour this batter over the butter in baking dish, but do NOT stir.

Step 3In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa and remaining 1 cup of sugar. Sprinkle the cocoa/sugar mixture over the batter. Again, do NOT stir.

Step 4Pour the 2 cups of boiling water on top of the cocoa/sugar (do not stir). Bake for about 30-45 minutes.
