Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup toasted almonds, pecans or walnuts
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate squares

- - lightly greased 8 x 8-inch baking pan

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2Melt butter.

Step 3Add the sugar, eggs, cocoa and vanilla.

Step 4Combine the flour and baking powder.

Step 5Stir into the chocolate mixture.

Step 6Toast the nuts by spreading in a single layer in a shallow pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 7Coarsely chop the chocolate squares, keeping in large chunks.
